At the beginning of the 1990s the Golf Club Bohemian Forest 18-hole course and 9-hole course was built with a true understanding of nature and the hilly area of the Mühlviertel region in the Bohemian Forest. This golf club is located at the three country point where upper Austria, Bavaria and the Czech Republic meet.
A high quality golfing experience is guaranteed with hedge and forest framed fairways lined with ponds, bushes and trees. The greens are well guarded by sand and grass bunkers ensuring an enjoyable round of golf. The fairways are mowed widely so it’s easy to get back on track, even with a bad shot. The great advantage of the Golf Club Bohemian Forest are the short distances between the individual golf courses, from the parking lot to the club house as well as to the teeing grounds. This allows golf to be at the forefront of your experience, not the long walks between holes. The view is uninterrupted by transmission towers or houses and if there is street noise, it comes from a local tractor passing by.
Another advantage is the limited number of golf tournaments on weekends at the Golf Club Bohemian Forest. Those golfers who can only find time for golf on the weekends are able to make a reservation for their preferred starting time and enjoy the round without time pressure. Green fee players are welcome to participate in our tournaments. The extra charge for the tournament fee (usually 25€) is only 15€ and includes dinner.
The generous practice facilities include a driving range with roofed teeing grounds, two putting greens, chipping and pitching area. These facilities are not only there for learning how to play golf but also invite golf players to practice. There are numerous course programs for beginners to gain PE (the license to play golf, handicap -54) and TE (permission to participate in tournaments, handicap -45) and courses are also available for advanced players.
In addition, the golf club focuses on natural herbs. At each hole, different herbs and other special plants are presented and their effects on golfers are described. The club restaurant uses the various herbs for cooking. Special culinary offers from the Bohemian Forest can be enjoyed, such as beer from the Austrian brewery which is wholly owned by monastery and located in the neighbouring village Aigen-Schlägl.
Even if small mistakes happen, our staff members guarantee that every golfer leaves the golf club with a smile on their face!
